Design and multiperspectivity-based performance investigations of H-Darrieus vertical axis wind turbine through computational fluid dynamics adopted with moving reference frame approaches

Abstract The power output of a straight-bladed H-rotor Darrieus vertical axis wind turbine (HDVAWT) is explored in this article. comparisons are performed between the NACA0018 airfoil and series Kline Fogelman modified airfoils. computational fluid dynamics findings first cross-checked with experimental data, processes validated as consequence. Then, CATIA, 12 airfoils were constructed by modifying step thickness, placement trailing edge form to get an efficient model for turbine. approved applied all 13 models, results obtained. In comparison NACA 0018 airfoil, KFm3 12% thickness rectangular demonstrated 47% efficiency under 6.65 m/s velocity rotational 120 RPM. also better when tested at 80 162 RPMs. Thus, final HDVAWT has been presented real-time applications, which primary goal work; also, proposed outperforms existing turbines.
